Blending simplicity & luxury in a stunning environment, Villa Manifesto brings you the best of Crete.
Hidden in the isolated (secluded) Meakis Beach, located 2 km west of the village of Arvi in the south coast of Crete, this beach house provides to its guests a unique holiday experience.
The beautiful sandy beach, the crystal shallow and warm blue waters, the sand dunes covered with sand lilies that blossom in August, together with the adjacent hill covered with pine and cider trees, create a unique environment.
In this secluded beach the sea turtle caretta caretta lays its eggs every June and in mid August the little turtles get out of their nest and go into the sea, starting their big journey.
The clarity of the sky, together with the absence of lights in the surrounding area provides the most amazing night sky. From October to March, the sun dives every afternoon in the sea in front of Villa Manifesto, creating the most amazing images in the horizon.
Built practically on the sea, the guests have the opportunity to exit Villa Manifesto and walk into the sea, enjoying the privacy of the beach, under the shades of the tamarisk trees planted on the sand in the edge of the property.
The spacious living-room with stunning view of the sea and the mountain is connected with the dining room and the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with professional equipment in which one can easily cook for more than 30 people.
Well-appointed out door living spaces at Villa Manifesto create the atmosphere of a private resort overlooking the Libyan Sea. Four pergola-covered terraces with built-in sofas and dining tables are perfect for al-fresco lunches in the shade or dinner with stunning views of the Libyan Sea. VILLAGE OF ARVI
The village of Arvi (497 inhabitants n 2001) is a seaside village in the municipality of Viannos, located in a green valley of bananas, overlooks the Libyan Sea.
The main occupation of the inhabitants is the cultivation of vegetables in green houses and bananas
At the end of the valley we find the gorge of Arvi, which is an attraction for climbers. There is a spring with water in the gorge from which the entire sea is irrigated. The east part of the Gorge is dominated by the Monastery of Saint Anthony.
Arvi is inhabited at least before 2600 BC, as Neolithic remains have been found. It is believed that it has one of the best climates. During the Roman Era Arvi was one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean. A Roman bath next to the Saint Panteleimon Church has been discovered.
However, the most important finding of the area is the marble sarcophagus, which was found near the sea by local residents more than 2 centuries ago.
Unfortunately, the villagers, looking for gold, broke the sarcophagus with the relief of Dionysian scenes, which is now exhibited in the Cambridge’s Fitzwilliam Museum. Similar is the story of the second sarcophagus found in the region. The inhabitants broke it into pieces to build the Holy Table of their church, selling the cover to the English.
